26th Rina Sala Gallo, Monza International Piano Competition

We are pleased to present the 26th Rina Sala Gallo, Monza International Piano Competition, which will be held in Monza at Teatro Manzoni, Italy, from September 27th till October 3rd, 2020.

Founded in 1947, Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions and of the Alink-Argerich Foundation. Every two years, pianists from all over the world meet up in Monza, to play in front of a demanding Jury, for a week long live screening, till the final round, with the accompaniment of the LaVerdi Symphony Orchestra of Milan.

The Jury is chaired by David Whelton (UK) also featured by Vovka Ashkenazy (Iceland-Russia), Fabio Bidini (Italy), Hyejin Kim (South korea),  Massimiliano Ferrati (Italy), Daniele Petralia (Italy) and Alvaro Teixeira Lopes (Portugal). Artistic director Vovka Ashkenazy.

With a total of €37,000 to be awarded in prize money, as well as a series of concert at prestigious venues in Italy for the 2021/2022 season to be organized for the winners, the Rina Sala Gallo Competition reconfirms for this edition its aim to support young pianists at the beginning of their career.

Applications have to be submitted from February 1st until April 30th, 2020.
