The Department of Choral Music trains students to become choral conductors. It organizes concerts, including cycles entitled “Teachers and Their Choirs” and “Graduates and Their Choirs”, workshops, seminars and courses devoted to choral music and participated by eminent Polish and foreign conductors. The most important event organized by the Department of Choral Music is the only National Competition of Choral Conductors, named after its originator, prof. Stanisław Kulczyński, in 2014.
