Hoffmann Redivivus – Symposium Report

On 7–8 October, 2025, the Academy of Music in Poznań, in collaboration with the E.T.A. Hoffmann-Gesellschaft in Bamberg, hosted a symposium dedicated to Ernest Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann.

An international panel of scholars examined the life and work of the German Romantic—a writer, poet, satirist, painter, and composer. The accompanying concert featured arias from the opera “Undine” performed by students of the Poznań Academy—Wiktoria Nowak-Kowalska and Wojciech Kowalski—with piano accompaniment by Prof. Laura Kluwak-Sobolewska. The pieces were recorded and published on the Berlin State Library’s website in the section dedicated to the life and work of E.T.A. Hoffmann: Undine – E.T.A.
