The Department of String Instruments, Guitar and Harp features outstanding teachers who offer the highest standard of education in violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar and harp.

Among teachers, graduates and students of the Department are winners of prestigious international solo and chamber music competitions. 

Individual courses in solo performance are accompanied with classes in chamber and orchestral music taught by members of reputable chamber ensembles. Our staff also conduct research projects.  

For many years the Department has been collaborating with major music centres in Europe, contributing to student exchange programmes.
