Ensemble Vocal Performance

is a new specialty launched in the second degree conducting course at the Institute of Conducting. It is an offer of specialized education for students who would like to combine their future career with singing in vocal ensembles or professional choirs in opera theaters or philharmonics. The new specialty also prepares for work in vocal training and rehearsal tutoring.

Ensemble vocal performance trains students primarily in a cappella singing, with particular emphasis on vocal development, choir voice blending and performance practice based on exploring the standard oratorio, cantata and opera repertoire.

Specialized subjects within the new specialty include:

  • ensemble singing
  • ensemble vocal training
  • solo singing
  • reading sheet music by voice
  • basics of conducting and score reading
  • specialist literature
  • voice anatomy and physiology
  • choral parts

and participation in ensemble and choir activities, allowing you to gather experience in conducting and learn a wide repertoire.

Solo singing teachers include:

  • dr hab. Marzena Michałowska, and
  • dr Sebastian Szumski.
