About the Academy

 

Founded in 1920, the Academy is a public higher education institution under the supervision of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It offers Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral programs in music performance, composition, theory, conducting, jazz, and music education. The Academy is located in the heart of Poznań, close to the Old Town and cultural institutions like Teatr Wielki and Aula UAM.

AMP is a member of international networks such as AEC (Association Européenne des Conservatoires) and Erasmus+, collaborating with partner universities across Europe and beyond.

 

International Profile

AMP welcomes visiting researchersdoctoral students, and guest lecturers in fields related to music performance, pedagogy, and music theory.

Research areas include:

– 20th and 21st-century music
– artistic research in performance
– psychology and physiology of music performance
– electroacoustic and film music
– music theory, ethnomusicology, music education.

Foreign researchers are supported by the International Office and can collaborate within artistic projects, public performances, masterclasses, or joint research initiatives.

International Relations Office: support with Erasmus+, staff mobility, bilateral agreements
Doctoral School: for researchers in training (PhD level)
Dean’s Offices and Departments: for content-specific and academic support
Library and Archives: access to rare Polish music materials, scores, journals, and databases

All visiting staff and researchers have access to:

– rehearsal rooms and performance halls (on request)
– IT and media support
– staff ID and library access
– English-speaking supervisors or contact persons
– opportunities for artistic or research dissemination
